MONTENEGRO | Visiting Kotor & what i wore on holiday..

The view of Kotor from the San Giovanni castle

As many of you are probably aware from the photos plastered all over my Instagram, I managed to persuade my boyfriend to visit Montenegro with me. It's a place that kept popping up from time to time and because the pictures looked so beautiful and i'd not heard of anyone i know visiting, i really got it into my head that i wanted to go. My 2016 new years resolution was to visit at least 2 new places every year and i'm someone who likes to try something new, I don't want to go to the same holiday destinations you hear people going on every year - Tenerife, Prague, Dubai (Although i do really want to visit Dubai to see what its all about but i've decided to push it back) I want to try new places and experience different cultures. I'm not really big on visiting the Americas apart from Cuba, i'd like to try Jamaica and Barbados too as my boyfriend is half Jamaican. But i really want to visit most of Asia.

The view from our hotel room - Boutique hotel case del mare

There was only 2 slight negatives about Montenegro - the locals aren't really used to tourists just yet and there was quite an awkward language barrier, but at the end of the day, we are visiting their country, so why should we expect them to speak english to us? The food wasn't the best either - i think there was 2 nights we really enjoyed our dinner, the further you get into town the better the selection of food. It's also very meaty, especially pork, so not the best for Vegetarians and a lot of countries that don't eat pork - my boyfriend doesn't eat pork and to be honest i'm not a fan of bacon, ham or chorizo either. However, this will be a massive bonus for all you meat lovers!

BUT the views, nature and weather completely out weighed all the cons. It averaged about 26/27 degrees when we were there, which is plenty for me! The old town was beautiful and the mountains surrounding the whole town of Kotor was incredible. The tough climb to the top of the mountain was totally worth it!

Overall, we had a great time! Thinking to go back in a few years once i've visited a few more places and will probably visit either Budva or Podgorica this time. I think Budva is more touristy with beach parties etc where as Kotor is more of a beautifulquiet old town which is exactly what i was looking for.... Thanks Montenegro, was a pleasure!

BLUE VANILLA | The perfect summer jacket..

Jacket - Blue Vanilla | Sunglasses - Mango | Necklace - River Island | Jeans - River Island

Just a quick one to show you guys this amazing embroidered denim jacket i picked up from Blue Vanilla. I know denim jackets are the hype at the moment and i'm not gonna lie - i do have a few sitting in my wardrobe. But this one caught my eye because it was different to anything else i'd seen. We've been seeing loads of the rose embroidered blue denim jackets all over the high street but i loved the bird and floral print on this lighter denim jacket - it really does stand out and i think it's a great purchase for the summer!

As the weather has been a bit up and down recently, i paired the jacket with a pair of blue skinnies and a basic vest, but this will also look great layered over little summer dresses on holiday!

Thanks for reading, have you started your holiday shopping yet?

SUMMER SHOPPING | Essential holiday pieces..

Glasses - Zaful | T-shirt - ZARA | Shorts - River Island | Bag - Primark | Sandals - Missguided

I've recently been doing my holiday shopping as i'm going on holiday in just under 3 weeks now.. I'm so excited as my last holiday was in November so i'm looking forward to a change of scenery! I'm someone who prefers to travel in the beginning of the year or the end of the year as i love spending summer in Scotland - i'm not the best with heat - so a summer holiday doesn't really appeal to me to be honest. I love getting away for a bit of winter sun or jetting off on a city break in the beginning of the year for a little change.

I picked up these lovely denim shorts from River Island. I was really looking for them in a size 10 or 12 as i prefer the oversized look in denim shorts but they only had the 8. I still really like them as i love the colour and the distressed look but i'm ultimately on the hunt for a nice pair of oversized shorts to wear with a belt and crop top.

This sheer oversized orange t-shirt from ZARA really stood out to me, i love the embroidery and love how its an oversized but statement piece to throw on over a bikini or with a pair of shorts like i did if you're venturing out for the day. I also think this would look fab dressed up with the pair of skinny jeans and a bralet underneath.

Thanks for reading, who else have started their holiday shopping already?

Give thanks,
Much love,
Terri x
